Darfur Voices is a Media project that aims to empower Sudanese youth to document the stories of their communities, especially in light of the ongoing war and conflicts that have shaken the Darfur region. The project is grounded in a deep belief that local voices are the most capable of conveying the truth, and that people's daily narratives deserve to be heard and preserved for future generations.
Empower youth in the fields of media, journalism, and content creation through hands-on training and capacity building.
Document the suffering of civilians in conflict zones and share their stories with the world in their own voices and images.
Confront hate speech and misinformation by producing impactful, human-centered content that focuses on narratives of peace and coexistence.
Strengthen collective memory by preserving testimonies, photographs, and documents that reflect what is happening in Darfur today.
Training young people in refugee and displacement camps in photography, videography, and journalistic writing.
Producing short films, photo stories, and live testimonies from within and outside Darfur.
Running awareness campaigns on social media that highlight overlooked stories and encourage participation.
Collaborating with media and humanitarian organizations to expand outreach and impact.
Because the world needs to hear the truth from those who live it. We return to the people their right to tell their own stories, creating a safe space for youth to transform from victims into narrators, and from content consumers into content creators.
